Day 3

Today, Tuesday, we woke up to fog and good weather. We headed out to El progresso at around 7am, but made a pit stop at the local farmers market. It was a good place to see the people of San Ignacio (the place we are staying) and get local fruit.
When we arrived in El Progresso, the team worked hard to get the siding and roof frame up. The house is almost complete with a kitchen and 3 bedrooms for 7 kids and the parents. The men from the village help so much and everyone in El Progresso is so grateful Pastor Carlos is getting a house for him and his family.
This morning, 4 women from our team, 2 teachers, and 1 Spanish speaker, went to meet with the school principal about a puppet show we are planning for later this week. They found out about a dilemma the principal had dealing with a couple of teachers that were not at school today. He was about to send the kids home for the day. Our team couldn't help but step in and teach the kids for the day and were put in a situation with 25 kids and no lesson plan for the rest of the day. God used the talents of some of the women on our team to bless the kids with an awesome science lesson and good music. The local women made us a great meal of a lot of rice and beans, chicken, and salsa. They fed all of the workers good fruit and kept all of us hydrated on coconut milk/water.
